Planning Department
The Ravalli County Planning Department is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for County holidays. The office will be closed Monday May 27, 2013 in observance of Memorial Day.

Codification of the Ravalli County Floodplain Regulations
The Ravalli County Planning Department has been working with the County Attorney's Office to codify the Floodplain Regulations. This simply means that the Floodplain Regulations will be incorporated into a larger body of existing county ordinances as opposed to remaining a stand alone set of regulations. Some minor changes to the Floodplain Regulations are being made during the codification process. The vast majority of the changes are being implemented for purposes of consistency, both within the regulations themselves and with State floodplain regulations. The Planning Department will have their first meeting with the Board of County Commissioners to discuss the Floodplain Regulation codification on December 13, 2011 at 1:30pm. The meeting is open to the public.

Natural Resource Use Policy
The Board of County Commissioners held a public meeting on the November 21, 2012 and adopted Resolution #2978, thus approving the adoption of the Natural Resource Use Policy.

The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) held a public meeting on April 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM and approved the amended subdivision regulations. The approved, amended subdivision regulations will go into effect on Monday June 4, 2012. Copies of the adopted, recorded Subdivision Regulations are available via the link immediately below.

The mission of the Ravalli County Planning Department is to administer and facilitate the processes of land use planning, subdivision review, and floodplain management in order to promote a high quality of life while protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Ravalli County. The Planning Department aims to provide the public with excellent service and accurate information.
